Buried Passions
After being kicked out of the Space Academy for an honors violation, Cor Kenrie
led a rough life until his father, famous archeologist Lucan Kenrie, recruited
him as the pilot for a secret expedition to Damaen, a lifeless world on the far
edge of explored space.
Now Federation pilot Tory Stone, the woman who
got him kicked out of the academy, has crash-landed in the middle of his
father's top-secret dig. Bossy as ever, Tory wants to commandeer Lucan's ship so
she and her weapons officer can return to the war between the Federation and the
Theocracy. But soon she's just as determined to stick her nose into the secret
Lucan has found buried beneath the sands of Damaen.
Torn between
conflicting duties and the memories of their affair, Tory and Cor fight to
suppress the fierce heat of their long-buried passions, but the revelation of
Lucan's secret triggers a fiery eruption that will put their loyalties and their
desire to the ultimate test.
Inside the book
- This story was originally very loosely inspired by the movie Forbidden Planet. I like the idea of going to an unknown world and finding something fabulous buried there. Of course, the story quickly took off in its own direction.
- I would mind having an android of my own for those various little -- ahem! -- chores around the house.
- I actually have a sequel in mind for this book, where Cor and Tory go off in search of an alien race. I just have to find time to write it.
